Here's what's happening
Michael and Susan are deeply committed to their communities — from their home in Texas, to every place where Dell Technologies operates, and through their strong connection to their Jewish faith.
Rebuilding Texas after Hurricane Harvey
Following Hurricane Harvey, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation launched the Rebuild Texas Fund, bringing together partners to raise $100 million and support 290 projects across 41 counties. This work touched the lives of 2.1 million Texans by rebuilding homes, schools, small businesses, and community infrastructure.
Strengthening Communities Through Digital Skills
Dell Technologies’ Dell Student Tech Crew program enables nonprofits and schools to teach hands-on digital skills and run student-led help desks across U.S. schools and nonprofits.
Ending Chronic Homelessness in Austin
The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation committed $36.6 million to expand Community First! Village, creating 1,400+ permanent homes. Today, 470 formerly homeless neighbors live in a vibrant, affordable community.
Overcoming Barriers to Digital Transformation
Dell Technologies is helping nonprofits overcome barriers to digital transformation, connecting skilled employee volunteers with 683 organizations since 2020 and committing to reach 1,000 by 2030.
Creating a Jewish Community Hub in Austin
Michael and Susan helped create the Dell Jewish Community Center in Austin by donating the land and providing ongoing support, transforming it into a vibrant 40-acre campus that now serves 17,000 members as a hub for community, culture, fitness, and learning.
Transforming Affordable Housing in Austin
For over 20 years, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has invested in Foundation Communities as they redefine affordable housing in Austin, helping nearly 25,000 families each year secure homes in prime locations while providing on-site programs in health, education, and financial services.
Empowering Austin Youth to Find Stability
Since 1999, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has partnered with LifeWorks to stand beside Austin foster youth, offering housing, counseling, education, and job training. Together, they’ve helped more than 100,000 young people find stability, finish school, and build pathways to independence.
Helping Communities Hit by Central Texas Floods
To meet urgent needs after the devastating flash floods on July 4, 2025, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation quickly deployed $1.75 million and partnered with local organizations to deliver fast relief to Central Texas communities.
Connecting Jewish New Yorkers to Essential Services
UJA-Federation of New York’s Brooklyn Hub — a Michael & Susan Dell Foundation partner — delivers food assistance, job training, legal guidance, and other critical services in one place, helping Jewish families and other neighbors get support faster, stay connected to care, and build long-term financial stability.
